Nigeria’s pioneer Afrocentric luxury brand, Le Look Nigeria Limited, makers of the iconic Le Look Bags, will on October 1, 2025, celebrate 40 years of resilience, creativity, and global impact at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.
The anniversary themed *“Legacy of Resilience: Empowering Entrepreneurs for Africa’s Economic Future” will feature morning and award-night sessions, bringing together over 300 distinguished guests, including senior government officials, industry leaders, development partners, and entrepreneurs across generations.
Speaking ahead of the celebration, Founder and CEO, Chief Mrs. Chinwe Ezenwa, described the milestone as a tribute to Nigerian enterprise:
“Le Look’s 40th Anniversary is more than a celebration, it is a call to sustain entrepreneurship in Africa’s fast-changing economy. From a small women-led business in 1985, we have grown into a proudly Nigerian global brand, exporting unique, locally crafted bags that celebrate African heritage with modern flair.”
Over four decades, Le Look has stayed true to its mission of strengthening local manufacturing, creating jobs, empowering women and youth, and driving Nigeria’s non-oil export agenda under AfCFTA.
The anniversary will feature:
• Keynote speeches and fireside chats with veteran entrepreneurs.
• Panel sessions on business longevity, youth and women in enterprise, and AfCFTA readiness.
• Exhibitions by government and trade agencies.
Today, Le Look is more than a fashion powerhouse, it is a development partner. Through the Le Look Bags Academy in Abuja, Enugu, and Lagos, the company trains artisans, offers scholarships, and provides healthcare support while partnering with institutions like NEPC and UNDP to expand export capacity and empower women and youth.
Notably, Le Look is the first SME in Nigeria to be certified as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) by the Nigeria Customs Service, and the first under AfCFTA’s Guided Trade Initiative to receive a Certificate of Origin for continental trade.
With products spanning handbags, ready-to-wear, Apple-support accessories, and Afrocentric lifestyle collections, Le Look continues to champion the philosophy of being “the first and foremost African luxury brand with global reach.”
