Comptroller Mohammed Shuaibu has officially assumed duty as the 28th Comptroller of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A, Ikeja, Lagos. The brief handing-over ceremony took place yesterday, April 23, 2025, at the Unit’s conference hall.
During his address, Comptroller Shuaibu pledged to bring his extensive experience to bear in leading the Unit through its complex operations. He called for the support and full cooperation of officers and men under his command, stressing the need for strict adherence to the Nigeria Customs Service’s “Seven Golden Rules” — the 7Cs — which serve as guiding principles for conduct and decision-making.

Shuaibu expressed his gratitude to the Almighty Allah and the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, for entrusting him with the new role. He expressed confidence in the ability of the Unit to meet and surpass its operational goals under his leadership.
A seasoned customs officer, Comptroller Shuaibu has served in various capacities across multiple customs formations, earning a reputation for excellence and professionalism.

In his farewell remarks, the outgoing Comptroller, Kolapo Oladeji, urged his successor to sustain the Unit’s operational momentum and expressed full confidence in Shuaibu’s capacity to lead effectively. Oladeji also thanked the CGC and the customs management for the opportunity to serve and appreciated the dedication of the officers and men during his tenure.
