The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has posted a record-breaking revenue of ₦215 billion in August 2025, driven by the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), popularly known as B’Odogwu.
Despite occasional network glitches flagged by stakeholders, the feat underscores growing trust in the homegrown platform built to transform trade facilitation at Nigeria’s busiest port.
Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, credited the achievement to the resilience of officers and the cooperation of importers, exporters, and licensed customs agents who continue to embrace the system.
“Our collection of ₦215 billion using the B’Odogwu platform confirms progress in our ongoing journey to build a dependable platform for trade by Nigerians and for all those doing import, export, and excise business in Nigeria. This is a collective victory for all of us,” Olomu declared.
He emphasized that the milestone was not just about figures but about stakeholders’ confidence in a system that is fast maturing into a reliable trade tool. He lauded the patriotism and commitment of officers, noting that their dedication has kept the system thriving in spite of challenges.
Olomu further revealed that the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, has directed the ICT/Modernisation Department to provide round-the-clock technical support, swiftly resolve complaints, and continuously improve efficiency across the platform.
Reassuring the trading community, the Controller maintained that B’Odogwu is on the verge of breaking through for greater success, affirming NCS’s resolve to surpass user expectations and drive Nigeria’s trade modernization agenda.
