Deputy Comptroller B.L. Adigun has formally assumed duty as the Acting Customs Area Controller of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), following the elevation of his predecessor, Assistant Comptroller General E.J. Edelduok, to the Service’s management team.
The handover ceremony, held on Thursday, December 5, 2025, at the Command’s conference hall, attracted senior officers, representatives of partner agencies, and maritime stakeholders who praised the seamless transition as another demonstration of Customs’ adherence to orderly leadership changes.
In her farewell remarks, ACG Edelduok expressed gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs and the NCS management for the opportunity to lead the KLT Command. Describing her tenure as “fulfilling and impactful,” she credited the Command’s achievements to teamwork, professionalism, and the unwavering support of officers and industry partners. She urged them to extend the same cooperation to her successor.
In his acceptance speech, Acting Controller Adigun thanked the Comptroller-General for the confidence reposed in him and lauded Edelduok’s “exemplary and results-driven leadership.” He pledged to sustain and build upon the Command’s existing gains, with a renewed focus on revenue generation, trade facilitation, anti-smuggling operations, and operational integrity.

Adigun further called for strengthened collaboration among stakeholders and charged officers to uphold discipline, commitment, and the highest standards of service.
Some stakeholders at the event noted that the smooth leadership transition underscored the institutional stability of the Nigeria Customs Service, expressing optimism that Adigun would steer the Command toward even greater accomplishments.
Highlights of the ceremony included the signing of handover documents, the symbolic presentation of the Service’s flag, and group photographs marking the formal transfer of authority.
