The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has extended its heartfelt condolences to its former President, Elder Asu Beks, following the painful loss of his wife, Mrs. Helen Asu Beks, who passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2025.
In a condolence message, the Association described the news of Mrs. Beks’ death as shocking and deeply heartbreaking, noting that her demise has left a void not only in the Beks family but also among colleagues and associates within the maritime community.
MARAN expressed sympathy to Elder Asu Beks, his children and the extended Asu Beks family, praying for divine strength, comfort and the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“Every member of MARAN prays that the Almighty God continues to preserve and protect the family, while granting the soul of the departed Amazon perfect rest in His bosom,” the Association said.
Reassuring the former president of its unwavering support, MARAN urged him to take solace in the Christian belief that those who sleep in the Lord will rise again on the Resurrection Morning.
“Sir, take heart. MARAN stands with you in fervent prayers, trusting God to grant you strength and peace during this difficult time,” the statement added.
