…Projects hailed as a model for corporate-driven rural transformation
The usually quiet Isade-Elero and Pampa-Isade communities in Ijebu North-East Local Government Area of Ogun State came alive on Saturday, September 13, 2025, as residents trooped out in their numbers to witness the commissioning of a series of transformative community projects donated by SIFAX Group.
Representing SIFAX Group Chairman, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, at the colourful ceremony was his elder brother, Deacon Dr. Wale Afolabi, who was flanked by community leaders, government officials, and other stakeholders as he unveiled the new facilities.
The commissioned projects include the state-of-the-art Chief Samson Afolabi Centre for Information and Technology Services, a 100 seater ICT hub designed to empower young people with digital skills; the newly built Isade Central Mosque; a Community Security Office (Elero Security Post) to improve safety in the area; 27 open market stalls to boost local commerce; and a modern recreational facility for relaxation and social activities.
These additions further expand the catalogue of impactful interventions previously executed by SIFAX Group in the region, which already boasts of a community health centre, seasonal road grading, and the construction of St. Mark’s Church Auditorium, hall, and vicarage, all projects made possible by the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Speaking at the event, Deacon Dr. Wale Afolabi reaffirmed SIFAX Group’s commitment to grassroots development.
“SIFAX Group and Dr. Taiwo Afolabi believe in the principle of social impact through support for communities across the country in the form of infrastructural provision, human capital development, and economic empowerment for the vulnerable. It is this same vision that underlines the support we are providing for these communities today,” he said.
His remarks drew applause from the enthusiastic crowd, many of whom expressed their gratitude for the company’s consistency in championing projects that cut across religion, trade, and education.

Chairman of Ijebu North-East Local Government Area, Hon. Folusho Badejo, also commended the initiative, describing it as a shining example of private-sector partnership with government.
“These kinds of projects are what the local government embraces as they help augment our efforts towards making lives easier for our people. I’m particularly excited to see the markets and the ICT centre because they address two key areas the local government has been working to improve,” he noted.
For the Baale of Isade-Elero, Chief Moses Sunday Odunuga, the projects were nothing short of divine intervention.
“This is a prayer answered for our people. We are grateful to God, to SIFAX Group, and to Dr. Taiwo Afolabi for these sustained contributions to our community development,” he said.
The event was more than just a commissioning , it was a festival of culture and faith. Residents, both young and old, joined in a spirited celebration marked by cultural displays, poetry recitations, choreographed dances, and parades from the Boys Brigade, Girl Scouts, and local military groups. Christians and Muslims stood side by side in a rare show of unity, reflecting the inclusive nature of the projects.
Major General S.A. Odunsi (Rtd.), Chairman of the Project Committee, Revd. Canon Mathew Kolade, and Chief Imam of Isade Mosque, Rafiu Oluwakemi Lawal, were among the dignitaries who graced the occasion, further underscoring its significance.
With this milestone, SIFAX Group has once again proven that corporate social responsibility is more than a buzzword . it is a powerful force for change. The ICT centre promises to open doors for digital literacy and innovation, the market stalls will strengthen local trade, and the security post will provide peace of mind to residents.
As the sun set on Isade-Elero, the smiles on the faces of the villagers told a compelling story. One of hope, pride, and a renewed sense of belonging. For many, the day was a reminder that when businesses invest in communities, they invest in the future.
