The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has announced a major promotion exercise, elevating nine Deputy Directors to the rank of Directors and approving career advancements for 234 other staff across various levels.
The Governing Board ratified the promotions at its latest sitting, a move seen as part of ongoing reforms to strengthen leadership capacity within the Agency.
Among those newly appointed as Directors are Mrs. Moji Jimoh (Coordinator, Abuja Liaison Office), Dr. Odunayo Ani (Director, Internal Audit), Mrs. Nneka Obianyor (Special Adviser to the DG), Mrs. Biodun Fatade (Director, Procurement), Dr. Oma Ofodile, Ms. Gloria Anyasodo, Mr. Abdulahi Yelwa, Mr. Umar Buba, and Mr. Umar Ibrahim Sidi.
Also promoted were 30 Assistant Directors elevated to Deputy Directors, 35 Chiefs who moved up to Assistant Directors, and 169 officers promoted across other grade levels.
Congratulating the beneficiaries, NIMASA’s Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, said the exercise underscored the Agency’s unwavering commitment to staff welfare and merit-driven career growth. He urged the newly promoted officers to see their elevation as a call to greater service.
“This promotion exercise is strictly merit-based, and we expect staff to reciprocate by rededicating themselves to higher productivity.”
“Our administration remains committed to improved staff welfare while counting on your commitment to the Agency’s ideals in actualizing its mandate,” Mobereola said.
The DG emphasized that the promotions were not just a reward for past efforts but a motivation for even higher performance as NIMASA continues to pursue its mandate of driving maritime safety, regulation, and development in Nigeria.
